StaCool™ Laminates
The StaCool™ product line was designed for the customer demanding the most stringent thermal performance from their circuit boards and laminates. The StaCool™ product line utilizes a high Tg (170°C), RoHS compliant, UL 94V-0 flame rating resin system loaded with ceramic fillers to provide superior heat dissipation properties over standard circuit board materials. With thermal conductivity ratings of 1.5 W/m-K for the StaCool™ 91 series and 2.0 W/m-K for the StaCool™ 92 series, these laminate materials exceed the thermal conductivity of FR-4 by nearly a factor of 5x-7x!
StaCool™ CCL and ML
StaCool™ copper clad laminates (CCL) and prepregs (ML) offer class leading thermal conductivity with outstanding electrical insulation performance, all the while permitting multi-layerability. Utilizing high Tg (170°C) resin combined with advanced ceramic fillers, the StaCool™ CCLs and PPs can be used in place of standard FR-4 laminates and prepregs, providing the designer with the versatility to create unimaginable high current density, high power circuits without the need for external heat sinks or exterior cooling. StaCool™ laminates and prepregs are offered in 3, 4, 6, and 8 mil single ply constructions or any combination thereof and can be laminated with any copper foil type or weight up to 6 oz.
StaCool™ MCL
StaCool™ metal clad laminates (MCL) combine StaCool™ prepregs with copper foil and an aluminum base to create a thermally conductive, electrically isolative substrate. Aluminum substrates from 0.032” and greater can be ordered in a variety of alloys including 5052-H32 and 6061-T6, amongst others. DC to DC converters, BLU LEDs, motor controllers, LED commercial and architectural lighting, amongst other applications, can all benefit greatly from the decreased thermal resistance provided by StaCool™ MCLs, greatly extending the reliability and lifespan of devices. StaCool™ MCLs are available in 3, 4, 6, and 8 mil dielectric thicknesses with any copper foil type or weight up to 6 oz.
